Camden might be best known for its lively markets, rock 'n' roll history, and alternative culture, but that’s not the Camden we’re talking about here. Just a short walk from King’s Cross and St Pancras, Camden Town Hall is a completely different side of the area—a refined, elegant setting that’s perfect for a stylish and stress-free wedding day. With its stunning architecture, fantastic transport links, and a wealth of nearby reception venues, it’s an excellent choice for couples looking to get married in central London.
Ceremony Venue: Camden Town Hall
Camden Town Hall is a beautiful and historic building, offering a variety of ceremony rooms to suit different wedding sizes. We have to talk about the grand marble staircase for a moment! It's stunning. White marble and beautifully proportioned. It really is something special and makes for a perfect photo opportunity. In fact, it's the just the two of you and your witnesses, you can actually have your whole ceremony on the staircase itself! Since the whole place was recently refurbished the ceremony spaces themselves feel classic and timeless. One of my favourites is the Heath Suite. It's beautifully light and airy and can accommodate up to 30 guests. The Primrose Room is gorgeous for an intimate wedding and you can actually combine to two rooms to accommodate up to 100 guests.
Whether you’re having an intimate ceremony or a larger gathering, the Town Hall has options to suit, all in a central and easily accessible location.
One of the biggest advantages of getting married at Camden Town Hall is that you step out directly into the heart of London, giving you endless options for beautiful post-ceremony photos. Whether you prefer the grandeur of St Pancras, the peaceful Bloomsbury squares, or the striking urban architecture around King’s Cross, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to stunning backdrops.

Reception Venues: King’s Cross, Bloomsbury, and Surroundings
The beauty of Camden Town Hall’s location is that you’re within walking distance of some of London’s best restaurants, bars, and private dining spaces. One of my top recommendations is The Standard Hotel, just down the road. They have a private room on the roof with a huge terrace taking in spectacular views of St Pancras. Like many hotels, you can actually get married on the premises if you prefer, which means your wedding party can relax, all under one roof for the day (and night!).
Booking Office 1869, located inside the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, just across the road from the Town Hall is also a good option. The setting is spectacular, with its historic railway arches and elegant atmosphere making it perfect for a stylish wedding reception.
Just a little further into Bloomsbury, The Bloomsbury Hotel offers several private dining options and a gorgeous cocktail bar if you want somewhere relaxed but luxurious.
For something more laid-back but still stylish, The Lighterman in King’s Cross has a beautiful canal-side setting and a private dining room with stunning views of Granary Square. If you’re looking for something small and elegant, Otto’s on Gray’s Inn Road is a hidden gem—an intimate French restaurant with fantastic food and a private space upstairs.
One important thing to check is that your reception venue will allow photography. Most of the larger hotel and bars will only allow professional photography in private spaces, so you will need to hire the whole room. I've been caught out before having to beg the managers to for permission to take a few photos of the happy couple sipping cocktails in a pub bar.
And what about Exmouth Market? Just down the road, towards Islington, it's a lively street packed with bars and restaurants. One of my favourites is the Coin Laundry which you can hire outright for your reception.

Transportation: Getting There
One of the biggest advantages of getting married in Camden is how incredibly well-connected it is. King’s Cross and St Pancras stations are directly across the road, meaning you and your guests have access to six underground lines, national rail, and even Eurostar services if anyone is travelling in from Europe. Euston station is also just a short walk away. After one recent wedding I photographed at the Town Hall the couple dashed of right after the ceremony to catch the Eurostar to Paris for their honeymoon.
Several bus routes stop right outside the Town Hall, and if you’re arriving in style in a wedding car, there’s space at the front of the building for drop-off and pick-up. Just around the corner, you’ll find quieter streets where a car can wait comfortably while you enjoy your ceremony.
Local Vendors: Dresses and Florists
If you want to support local businesses while planning your wedding, Camden has some fantastic independent options. For wedding attire, Bridal Rogue Gallery on Chiltern Street (just a short taxi ride away) is a fantastic boutique offering a range of stunning dresses. If you’re looking for a suit, Beggars Run in Clerkenwell creates beautiful made-to-measure pieces with a modern, stylish feel.
For flowers, the Botanique Workshop on Exmouth Market is great and just over the road in Coal Drops Yard you have Roseur.

More Ceremony Venues
Of course, there are plenty of other places you can actually tie the knot in Camden. For those seeking a blend of history and elegance, Kenwood House, nestled in the rolling hills of Hampstead Heath, offers a serene countryside atmosphere within the city. Its sun-drenched Orangery and lush green lawns provide a picturesque backdrop for ceremonies and receptions.
If a venue with musical heritage appeals to you, Cecil Sharp House, located near Regent's Park, exudes character and charm. With a large hall and a stunning garden, it serves as an enchanting backdrop for your wedding photos.
For couples desiring a venue rich in history and culture, Lauderdale House, dating back to 1582, is an impressive Grade II* listed building known for its vibrant gardens and stunning views. It offers ample room for ceremonies and receptions, combining historic features with modern amenities.
That's just a taste. You really are spoiled for choice!
