Beautiful wedding Photography at The Guildhall, Northampton


As a documentary wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing Lizzy and Steve's special day in Northampton. Although they had their main ceremony in France earlier in the year, they needed to tie the knot in the UK, choosing the simple registry office in Northampton's central library. While the library isn't the most photogenic venue, its proximity to the beautiful Guildhall offered us plenty of opportunities for stunning group shots and intimate photos of the couple.


The weather on the day was exceptionally bright and sunny, which, contrary to popular belief, can be challenging for photographers. We often prefer gentle, soft light that flatters the subjects more than hard light. Fortunately, the Guildhall provided ample shade, making it an ideal location whether it’s too bright or raining.

I loved Lizzy’s wedding suit, especially her Jimmy Choo’s - so stylish - and it was beautiful light around the entrance to the Guildhall which helped to show her suit off.


My approach to documentary wedding photography is all about capturing genuine moments and creating lasting memories. Lizzy and Steve's day was filled with candid moments that truly reflected their joy and connection.
