What a joy to photograph actress and all round lovely person Nicola Stephenson at her London home this week. 


A proud Lancashire lass (check the mug) she’s known for Brookside, Clocking Off, Holby, Waterloo Rd Emmerdale. The house is so warm and welcoming - a proper family home. And maybe thanks to her husband (artist Paul Stephenson) is full of wonderful art - some of it his own - which is just great to see. 


The adorable little dog is actually a plastic model and a sad (if low maintenance) substitute for the real thing. One day Nicola, Paul will bring home a real puppy to keep you company.

One charming detail is the original Stick Man cartoon, of Paul proposing the Nicola. You can also see they (well Paul, at least!) loves to garden and grow vegetables for their own kitchen table. And the frames floor tile is from the famed Hacienda where Nicola spent many a happy night. The world-famous Hacienda night-club was renowned for performances by many of today's leading artists. It was actually the venue for Madonna's first appearance in the UK - right in the heart of Manchester.
