Hi, I’m Gary. It’s nice to meet you! When I'm not taking photos I love singing, outdoorsy stuff, dogs, theatre, travel, art, chocolate, and tea. That said, I'm quite happy sitting in bed with a bag of Maltesers watching Breaking Bad.
What couples mention most is how calm and easy I make everything feel on their big day. I quietly blend in, keep an eye out for real moments and guide you gently when you need it.
Happiest moment: Scrubbing an elephant's toe nails.
Favourite pet: I had a pet hedgehog called Spike.
Proudest moment: Singing at Carnegie Hall.
Fun fact: I met the King at Buckingham Palace
Movies: The Talented Mr Ripley, White Chicks, Silence of the Lambs.
Books: The Goldfinch (Donna Tartt), Any Human Heart (William Boyd), Four Hour Work Week (Tim Ferriss).
Songs: So Easy (Olivia Dean), That's Life (Sinatra), A Sky Full of Stars (Coldplay), Love Theme from Dances with Wolves (John Williams)
Favourite punctuation mark: En dash (so much nicer than a semi-colon).
Favourite biscuit: Garibaldi (it’s me!)
Favourite sport: People watching
Drinks: Classic Daiquiri, London Pride, Fortnum & Mason Smokey Earl Grey tea (all three in that order is a perfect night out).
I have photographed all sorts of people from the arts and politics including (name drop alert) Joss Stone, Jools Holland, Lord Peter Hain, Kelsey Grammar, Jeffrey Archer, Rebecca Ferguson, Ray Winstone, Piers Morgan, Lord Carnavon, Paul Oakenfold and Tom Parker Bowles to name a few. My work has been recognised by the International Photography Awards, Tokyo Foto, and the New York Times — and has appeared everywhere from books and London exhibitions to billboards and most impressively... on tea towels! More importantly, I’ve had over 150 five-star Google reviews and won the Hitched Wedding Awards in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Before I lived in Islington I spent most of my life in Grimsby (fish and chips), so you'll find me pretty down to earth and straightforward. If you think you’ve seen my face before it might be from my work as a freelance presenter. Over the years, I've recorded literally thousands of videos and voice-overs for clients like the NHS, Sainsbury's, McCain, and (coincidentally) Jessops Cameras.
I've also had a parallel career as a singer/songwriter. If you caught the West End's Rat Pack show, you might have seen me donning the persona of Frank Sinatra. My love for singing has taken me to some iconic stages including Carnegie Hall, Buckingham Palace, Ronnie Scott's, Abbey Road studios and the Royal Albert Hall. I've also been profiled in the Sunday Times' ‘Fame and Fortune’ section, and was honoured with an invitation to Downing Street in recognition of my work with Gloria Hunniford and the Caron Keating Foundation. I've been featured in The Times 'Fame and Fortune' section, presented for BBC Radio 2 and wrote the performers' bible 'Cabaret Secrets'. You can read more about all this on Wikipedia.
I've had the honour of having my work featured in the New York Times, ArtDoc Photography Magazine, World of Interiors Magazine, Dodho Magazine (photography awards), officially selected for the International Photography Awards, the Tokyo Foto Awards, Honourable Mention in the London Photography Awards, the Historic England National Archive, exhibited at the Decode gallery in Arizona, the Hellenic American Union Annual Exhibition, the Art Square Gallery in New York, the Chania International Photo Festival, the Trieste Photo Festival, the Glasgow Gallery of Photography (in their Masters of Street Photography exhibition), the Shutter Hub annual exhibition at Cambridge University, London Independent Photography Exhibition (Espcaio Gallery) and F-Stop Magazine's 20th Anniversary exhibition. I was honoured to have studied with the late, great Martin Parr and you'll find a photo of me by Martin in his biography.
You might be wondering how my music relates to my photography. Well, my passion for performing has taught me the art of storytelling - capturing emotions and moments that truly touch people's hearts. That's what drives me to create wedding photographs that not only look stunning but also resonate with the love, drama, tears, laughter and joy of this most special of days.
Choosing a photographer for your special day is never an easy task, often judging simply by pictures on websites. Having seen Gary's work and sharing it with my husband, we loved his natural approach to photography and reached out to speak with him directly. Gary is friendly, professional and has a great sense of humour. He put us at complete ease and we'd made the right decision. Particularly when my videographer cancelled 30 mins before she was meant to arrive, he assured me his photos would be all we needed, and he was right. Our guests were extremely complimentary about him as both a person and professional. We would recommend him to anyone and the pictures speak for themselves. Eternally grateful, thank you.
