Trumpeter Tony Fisher at home

From Bond to Bennett and the Beatles...

Ella Fitzgerald, Stan Kenton, Bert Kaempfert... these names barely scratch the surface of the resumé for this titan of the British music scene. Tony has played on countless sessions from nearly every Bond film produced to the Beatles’ Magical Mystery Tour album. Tony is the trumpet you hear on Tom Jones’ “It’s Not Unusual", he’s a former member of the Ted Heath Orchestra, the Kenny Clarke/Francy Boland Big Band and Tubby Hayes’ band. Nelson Riddle, John Williams, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Tony Bennett and Sammy Davis Jr.

In one of the photos in his office you can see Tony in the sitting behind Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby during a London recording session. Just underneath the photo you can also see his "Trumpet Trousers" sign.

Almost all of that work was played on the trumpet you can see here. Now retired he's still as fun as ever (telling me "my diary used to be full of gigs now it's full of doctor's appointments") and wonderful company.
