With a career spanning nearly four decades, Neil Brands's accolades as an English dramatist, composer, and author are as extensive as his global performances. From enchanting audiences at prestigious London venues like the Barbican and BFI National Film Theatres to enthralling cinephiles worldwide at various film festivals, Neil's musical mastery knows no bounds. His expertise extends beyond performance, with acting credits and contributions to BBC productions alongside the publication of his insightful book, "Dramatic Notes."

Commissioned by Star Concerts, I had the privilege of capturing Neil's essence just before his performance at the St. Albans Arena. As he continues his tour with the beloved Laurel and Hardy show, I aimed to freeze moments that mirror his passion and talent. Neil's dedication to his craft is palpable, evident in every keystroke and nuanced expression.

As a London-based portrait photographer, my passion lies in uncovering the genuine persona behind each subject. Whether capturing the romance of weddings or the intricate details of everyday objects, my passion for portraiture is endless. There's an undeniable thrill in unraveling the layers of a person's character and immortalizing their essence in a single frame.

The session with Neil was no exception. It was a delightful journey of discovery, peeling back the layers to reveal the man behind the music. Through candid moments and thoughtful compositions, I did my best to capture Neil's authenticity, his unwavering dedication to his craft, and the sheer joy he brings to audiences worldwide.

In the bustling heart of the creative city of London, being a portrait photographer is more than a profession; it's a privilege. It's about forging connections, capturing emotions, and crafting memories that will transcend time. And in the case of Neil Brand, it's about celebrating a remarkable talent whose melodies echo through the corridors of cinematic history.

My background is in portraiture and street photography. I love trying to capture a person’s essence in a photograph. I am a curious person by nature and always want to know the real story, what a person is really like behind their public facade.

I photograph weddings, perfume bottles, and everything in between, but my true passion is portrait photography. I just love it.

A portrait photoshoot gives me time to get to know my subject, try to bring out what makes them tick, and capture it in a single frame.
