A Very Fun, Very Fabulous and Super hot wedding at Hackney Town Hall


Rob and Cristian’s wedding was one of those days where everything just felt right. It was hot, the light was beautiful, and from the moment guests started arriving you could feel how much love and affection there was in the room for them. After seven years together they tied the knot at Hackney Town Hall in front of 30 or so close friends and family. A small, romantic, and very personal day — just how they wanted it.

The ceremony itself was full of laughter and emotion, exactly what you hope for. Afterwards we took a few stress-free group shots outside the town hall before heading to Trullo, just down the road. They’d hired the lower floor of the restaurant, which was perfect — intimate, relaxed, and full of great food.

Why Trullo Works So Well for A Wedding Reception


Rob and Cristian chose Trullo partly because it’s small enough to feel private but still has a real sense of occasion. As a natural wedding photographer, I thought it worked brilliantly. The Danish-style speeches — where anyone could stand up whenever they felt moved to — made the whole evening feel warm and spontaneous.


One of the lovely things about shooting at Hackney Town Hall and Trullo is that both spaces have their own character but don’t feel formal or stuffy. As a documentary wedding photographer at Hackney Town Hall and a documentary wedding photographer at Trullo, I was able to blend into the background and catch all those little moments of laughter and connection. It’s exactly the kind of day I love to photograph — beautiful photos for people who won’t like to pose, full of real, natural moments. Look at the photos and see for yourself.
