Natalie and Tim’s Islington Town Hall and Frederick’s Wedding
I knew this was going to be a special wedding from the moment I first spoke to Natalie and Tim. They had planned everything beautifully, with the day starting at Islington Town Hall before heading to Frederick’s for the reception. Having lived in Islington and being Arsenal supporters, the town hall was a particularly fitting place for them to get married.
We started at The Vineyard pub just across the road from the town hall before heading over to the Council Chamber for the ceremony. After the ceremony, there was a great confetti moment on the steps, followed by the family photographs. Then everyone climbed aboard the Routemaster bus for the short journey to Frederick’s, with a little detour along the way to take in a few London sights.
We found Gary through researching photographers tagged at Say I Do Islington, and he came highly recommended to us by Laura at Frederick's and hiring him was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! From the moment we met, we instantly hit it off. Gary walked us through what the day would look like, taking the extra time to explain every detail and sharing his expert advice on what works best. It was clear right away how much experience he has, especially with how Islington Town Hall operates. His insider knowledge gave us total peace of mind, and we knew instantly we could trust him to make everything run smoothly. On the actual wedding day, he was absolute perfection. Not only were we thrilled with how he worked, but all of our guests completely fell in love with him too! He made everyone feel at ease and captured the magic of our day so effortlessly. We couldn't be happier with our wedding day and, most of all, our stunning photos. We would recommend Gary in a heartbeat to anyone looking for an incredible wedding photographer!

Frederick’s, Islington – A Great Reception Venue
Frederick’s is one of my favourite London reception venues. It is really well organised, the staff are brilliant and the whole place just flows naturally from one part of the day to the next. There’s a balcony overlooking the private garden, plenty of room for dinner and, later on, plenty of space for dancing.
One of my favourite details was the handwritten letter Natalie and Tim gave to every guest, explaining exactly how important that person was to them. Combined with some very emotional speeches, there were plenty of happy tears throughout the reception. The band was fantastic and the dancefloor was packed, which was a great way to finish a very special day. As a documentary wedding photographer at Islington Town Hall and a documentary wedding photographer at Frederick’s, these are the sort of moments I’m always looking for. Natural wedding photography is about letting the day unfold rather than constantly stopping it, creating beautiful photos for people who won’t like to pose.
