A Farm Street Church Wedding Followed by a Reception at The Athenaeum Club


Farm Street Church in Mayfair is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful churches in London. William and Raffaella’s wedding there was a perfect example of why I love working as a natural wedding photographer. The church’s light, atmosphere, and detail all make for beautiful photos for people who won’t like to pose. Their traditional Catholic service was conducted with real care (Raffaella's brother is a priest and took part in the ceremony), and the setting could not have been better.


Farm Street Church is always a joy to photograph in. Even without flash, the natural light works beautifully if you know where to look. I kept to the side aisles during the ceremony as requested, which gave me a clear view of key moments without intruding. The Mount Street Gardens nearby gave us a quieter space for family photos, away from the main crowd but still within that classic Mayfair backdrop.

After the ceremony, guests made their way to the Athenaeum Club – one of London’s most elegant venues. The club’s historic interiors provided a fantastic backdrop for the reception, with the kind of warmth and character you just can’t stage. It felt relaxed yet refined, exactly the kind of setting that suits me!


This was a wedding that combined tradition with real warmth. William and Raffaella’s families and friends created an atmosphere that was both formal and full of life – exactly the sort of day that makes my job as a documentary wedding photographer at Farm Street Church such a privilege. Days like this remind me why I love creating natural wedding photographs that capture the story without taking people out of the moment.
