A Pre-Wedding Glass of Wine to Calm the Nerves
Sarah and George’s wedding was a joy to photograph. As a London-based documentary wedding photographer, I love capturing moments that feel real and unposed, and their day was full of genuine smiles and laughter. They met nine years ago online and share such an infectious happiness—it was clear from the start how devoted they are to each other.
We began the day at the Vineyard pub, which is just across the road from Islington Town Hall. It’s a fantastic spot for couples to meet before their ceremony. Quiet and atmospheric during the day, it provides a perfect setting for candid wedding photography. The pub’s charming interior also gave me the chance to experiment with some creative lighting for a few unique shots. It was a relaxed way for Sarah and George to ease into the day, with a couple of glasses of something special helping to calm those pre-wedding nerves.

The ceremony took place in Room 99 at Islington Town Hall, a beautiful space for an intimate gathering. The joy on Sarah and George’s faces was a reminder of why I love being a documentary wedding photographer. There’s nothing quite like capturing those fleeting emotions that define such an important moment.
Afterwards, we strolled down Upper Street to a local Italian restaurant, where their celebrations continued. It was the perfect end to a wonderful day, surrounded by family, friends, and plenty of laughter.
