A joyful wedding at Clissold Hall and The Londesborough in Stoke Newington


Some weddings just have an extra bit of joy about them. Camille and Peter’s day was full of laughter from start to finish, and it was a privilege to be there. I’ve lived in Islington for over 25 years and often walk through Clissold Park, but this was actually my first time photographing a wedding at Clissold Hall. It didn’t disappoint — the grand entrance and beautiful spiral staircase make it a brilliant setting for a ceremony.


There were plenty of tears too (mostly from Camille’s side — clearly a family trait), but that just added to the atmosphere. After the ceremony we used the impressive front of the Hall for a few family group photos before making the short walk over to the reception at The Londesborough Pub.

Why Clissold Hall and The Londesborough work so well


Clissold Hall has a lovely balance of elegance and charm, and it suits couples who want beautiful photos without feeling they have to pose. As a documentary wedding photographer at Clissold Hall, it was a treat to capture moments in such a relaxed, light-filled space. The Hackney registrars are always excellent — professional but warm, which makes the ceremony feel personal.


The Londesborough is just a 10-minute walk away and works perfectly for drinks, dinner, and dancing. Mark and his team did a brilliant job keeping everyone happy, and the speeches and impromptu performance by Camille’s friends added so much character to the evening. Being a natural wedding photographer at The Londesborough really suited the vibe — plenty of space inside and out, and everyone could just get on with enjoying themselves. Beautiful photos for people who won’t like to pose — that’s always the aim, and this wedding was exactly that.
