Hannah and Myles’ London Elopement
Hannah and Myles travelled from Richmond, Virginia, to London to celebrate their wedding with family and friends. Although it was an elopement in the sense that they were getting married abroad, around 100 guests made the trip to be there with them. That says a lot about how much they mean to the people around them, and it made for a really special day.
They chose 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, just off Pall Mall in central London, as their venue. It’s a magnificent setting, with elegant rooms and plenty of character, and the music room was one of the things that first caught their attention. The venue also made the planning process straightforward, which is always a bonus when organising a wedding from another country.
A relaxed wedding day in central London
The ceremony went perfectly, followed by speeches that were both touching and genuinely funny. There were some lovely reactions from family members, and those moments are often just as important to photograph as the main events themselves. The best wedding photographs aren't always the ones where everyone is looking at the camera. Often, it's the natural expressions and interactions that bring the memories back.
One of the advantages of a venue like 10-11 Carlton House Terrace is that everything happens under one roof. Nobody needs to travel between locations, and the day can flow naturally from the ceremony through to dinner and the evening celebrations. After dinner, Hannah and Myles cut their cake before heading straight into the dancing. It was a pleasure to photograph their wedding and document the moments they shared with the people who had travelled so far to celebrate with them.
