A relaxed, personal wedding at Morden Hall
I always tell couples to make the day their own, and Leonita and Michael really took that on board. Their wedding at Morden Hall had a bit of everything—romantic, emotional, and genuinely fun—but what stood out was how personal it felt. They met through gaming, and instead of keeping that as a footnote, they made it part of the day, with a dedicated retro games room that guests kept drifting back to throughout the evening.
Morden Hall is one of those venues that gives you space to breathe without ever feeling far from the city. As a documentary wedding photographer the thing I love about Morden Hall is that the setting that works quietly in the background—beautiful grounds, a river at the edge of the lawn, and plenty of natural light. It’s ideal if you’re after Beautiful photos for people who won’t like to pose, without needing to step too far away from your guests.
A venue that keeps things flowing
One of the things that works particularly well here is how the day moves. There are separate spaces for both sides to get ready, which keeps things calm in the morning. Then you’ve got that staircase entrance for the ceremony—simple, but it always makes an impact. After that, everything opens up. Confetti outside, group photos on the lawn, and then a short wander down towards the river for something a bit quieter with just the two of them.
Leonita and Michael kept things relaxed, which suited both them and the venue. We didn’t overcomplicate the couple portraits—just a short walk, a bit of space, and letting things happen naturally. That’s always the aim as a Natural wedding photographer, especially at a venue like this where you don’t need to force anything. Later on, everyone moved back inside for the evening, where the dance floor and the games room both got a fair amount of use—probably in equal measure.
Gary was absolutely brilliant! Super friendly and so easy to talk to, me and my husband really built a good rapport with him, and he was so supportive of our ideas. You can tell he really loves what he does :) We were really able to pin down the vibe of the day and that came through in the photos themselves - stunning quality and honestly brought such huge smiles to our faces when we viewed the finished work. Especially as someone who's not super comfortable in front of the camera, he was really able to make me feel relaxed and actually enjoy taking pictures! Gary remained professional on the day, ensuring we got the most photos without taking up too much time. I definitely wholeheartedly recommend Gary to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.
