Anne and Nigel - A beautiful Match

Nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Sutton, the Sutton St. James Baptist Church played host to Anne and Nigel's special day. The quaint charm of this Baptist church was the perfect backdrop for a wedding that radiated warmth and friendliness.

Sue, the pastor, greeted everyone with open arms, setting the tone for the day ahead. The village of Sutton, not far from Kings Lynn, added to the idyllic ambiance, making it a day to remember.

Anne and Nigel's wedding exuded a genuine and vibrant atmosphere. Both of them have infectious, bubbly personalities, and it's clear they have a deep love for life and each other. Their faith was beautifully intertwined with the ceremony, with heartfelt hymns sung by all, and Anne's melodious voice ringing out with joy.

One of the unique touches that made this wedding stand out was the presence of a miniature greyhound on the guest list, an unconventional addition that Pastor Sue graciously allowed. It was a delightful surprise that added to the day's charm.

Weddings are a rare occasion that brings together family and friends, creating memories that last a lifetime. I was able to capture intimate, documentary-style shots, focusing on Anne and Nigel's desire for a journalistic, unposed approach. At the same time, we made room for formal portraits to ensure all their loved ones were covered.

As a documentary wedding photographer, I aimed to capture the authenticity of Anne and Nigel's love and the overall ambiance of the wedding. From the joyous faces of friends and family to the heartfelt ceremony, my goal was to encapsulate the real vibe of the day as it unfolded.

Anne and Nigel's wedding at Sutton St. James Baptist Church was a day filled with laughter, love, and authenticity. It was a pleasure to be part of this celebration and to document their story. Anne and Nigel's day was a testament to the power of love and the beauty of candid wedding photography.

"Gary arrived promptly and had a wonderful personality, putting everyone at ease, even taking pictures of my daughter, who hates being photographed.

His timing and suggestions were impeccable, and we couldn't recommend him enough. An excellent photographer."

My background is in portraiture and street photography. I love capturing a person’s essence in a photograph. That’s always my goal. Documentary wedding photographing and candid wedding photography is deceptively challenging. It’s not just a matter of pointing the camera at anything and everything that’s happening. It’s about anticipating what’s going to happen next and making sure I am ready to capture the perfect shot with the right lighting and composition. It’s also understanding what’s needed to tell the story of the wedding day so anyone looking at the photos can get a real feeling of what it was like to be there on the day.

To me, being a documentary wedding photographer is a genuine honour. It’s a privilege to have unlimited access to such a special day. To be invited into the family and trusted is something I take very seriously, and I always give my very best. I love my couples. I want them to have the best day, and I want to do the very best I can for them. It’s a great responsibility but one I absolutely love.

I want my couples to barely notice I’m there while I’m busy photographing their day. It’s my job to let the day happen and make sure I capture it in an authentic way. When my couples look at the photos, I want them to feel instantly transported back to their day so they can relive all the joy for years to come.
