Your Perfect Day from Start to Finish at Camden Town Hall

Camden Town Hall perfectly blends historic grandeur with contemporary style, making it a stunning setting for your wedding day. As a Camden Town Hall wedding photographer, I’m always struck by its breathtaking marble staircase and classic Neoclassical architecture. Plus, the vibrant nearby neighborhoods provide a wealth of fantastic spots for memorable post-ceremony photos — I know the area well and love capturing couples against this dynamic London backdrop. Of the town halls I photograph this has to be my favourite. Not only because of that stunning staircase and the crisp contemporary designs of the ceremony rooms but it's the staff that really make the difference. They're always so kind and so helpful. But instantly make everyone there feel like part of their little family.

Camden Town Hall FAQs

What ceremony rooms are available, and how many guests can they hold?

A.Camden Town Hall offers several rooms:

Primrose Room (up to 4 guests)

Regent’s Room (up to 20 guests)

Heath Suite (30 or 60 guests, expandable with Primrose Room to 100)

Council Chamber (80–160 guests)

Marble Staircase (witness ceremony only, up to 4 people)

Can we take photos inside, especially on the marble staircase?

A.Yes! The marble staircase is a popular and iconic spot for wedding photos. Over the years I've learned the best angles and little spots on the staircase to really get the most out of it. Also, one of the Handy things about having such a large staircase as it is quite easy to photograph all of your wedding guests together at the same time. This isn't usually possible or at least very easy at most venues, but at Camden Town Hall it's very straightforward.

Can we bring pets to the ceremony?

A.Generally, pets are not permitted inside Camden Town Hall for ceremonies, with the exception of assistance dogs. If having a pet present is very important to you, it’s worth contacting the Camden Registration Service directly to discuss possible accommodations or alternative options.

Can we be interviewed separately so we can see each other for the first time in the ceremony room?

A.Yes, you can absolutely request to be interviewed separately. The registrars are happy to arrange this so that you don’t see each other before the ceremony — perfect if you’re planning a big “first look” moment as you walk in.

Can we have religious readings and music in the ceremony?

A.Civil ceremonies must remain non-religious by law. That means you cannot include religious readings, hymns, prayers, or music with religious references. However, you can include personal vows, non-religious poetry, and secular music. The team will be happy to check your choices in advance to make sure they comply.

Do we need to bring our own witnesses?

A.Yes. You must bring two witnesses, and they can be friends, family members, or anyone who understands the ceremony and can legally witness it. Camden Town Hall staff cannot act as witnesses.

Can we take photos inside the building?

A.Yes! You’re welcome to take photos throughout the ceremony and in designated areas of the building afterward — especially on the iconic marble staircase, which is a favourite among couples and photographers. Just be sure your photographer follows any instructions from staff to ensure the ceremony runs smoothly.

Can we use confetti?

A.Yes, but only biodegradable confetti is allowed, and it must be used outside the building. Throwing confetti indoors is not permitted to help keep the venue clean and safe.
